What it is
Oral sedation is a prescribed pill you take before your appointment. You stay awake, but you feel very relaxed, and many people don't remember much of the visit afterward.
How it works
- We talk about your health and decide together if it's right for you
- You get a prescription and clear instructions
- You take the pill before your visit, as directed
- A friend or family member drives you to and from the office
Is it right for you?
Oral sedation can help if you feel very anxious about dental care or need a longer visit. We'll go over your medical history first to make sure it's safe for you.
We're in network with Delta Dental, Cigna, Guardian, Humana and more, file your claim for you, and offer financing through CareCredit and Compassionate Finance.

Will I be asleep?
No. You're awake and can respond to us, just very relaxed.
Do I need a driver?
Yes. Plan for a family member or friend to drive you to and from your appointment.
How is it different from nitrous oxide?
Nitrous oxide is breathed in and wears off in minutes. Oral sedation is a pill that lasts longer and gives a deeper sense of calm.
