Dr. Grier is a native Texan, and grew up in a small town on the edge of DFW Metroplex. He’s lived in North Central Texas his whole life except for four years in Houston while in dental school. Dr. Grier earned his BS in Biology/Chemistry from Texas Wesleyan College, and his DDS from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch.
Dr. Grier started working in his father’s dental lab when he was only 15 years old, and had six years of experience as a crown/bridge lab technician prior to dental school. He began surgically placing implants in 1988, has continued orthodontic training, and has been an AOS member since 2005.
Dr. Grier loves helping patients achieve the smile they want and deserve. He enjoys helping patients find hope with full mouth rehabilitation, dental implants and orthodontics. One of his greatest passions is helping young patients achieve a straight, healthy smile without braces using the No Brace System he developed himself.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Grier enjoys water sports including wake surfing, water skiing, and wave runners. He also enjoys snowboarding in Colorado, as well as bow fishing! He loves to take the boat out on the river, as well as cooking and entertaining.
Dr. Grier has been married to his wife for 37 years, and she has been in dentistry as long as he has! Together they have four children – two boys and two girls – ranging from 14 to 30 years old. Three of them are adopted, and all but one of their daughters is married. Their oldest has 5 year old twin girls who are the joy of his life.
Julie grew up in Fort Worth, Texas on the eastside, known as the Handley-Meadowbrook area. She attended high school at Eastern Hills High School and graduated in 1977. She was in the medical program at UoE and started the dental program as a junior with Dr. Ted Vaught in West Forth Worth. Julie has worked for many years as a dental assistant as well as the administrative side.
She opened a part-time business helping other doctors train their staff and build better practices, while speaking at dental conventions. She is certified as a Texas Registered Dental Assistant, as well as in administration and monitoring of nitrous oxide. Julie loves helping patients with their dental health needs and communicating with children, schools and businesses. In her free time, Julie loves to travel and spend time with her family and her grandchildren!
Kaitlyn was born and raised in Grandview, Texas. She attended school here in Grandview, and started working for Dr. Grier after graduating high school. Only three months into working here she achieved her RDA, and certification in nitrous oxide. She took a brief hiatus from the practice in 2014 to achieve her Health Science degree. Her additional education, training and certifications include OSHA, CPR, RDA, Orthodontic Assistant (OAS/AOA), and nitrous oxide. Kaitlyn enjoys interacting with her patients every day and helping them accomplish their goals.
In her free time, Kaitlyn is a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for one of the top five units the U.S., enjoys attending bible studies with her church, and spending time with her family. She is one of four sisters, all close in age, so they are all very close now with kids the same age who are all best friends as well. She has a 5 year old son named Kolson who loves baseball, bugs, lizards, and anything outside. Kaitlyn enjoys a good conversation and a good run. She focuses on keeping God first, then family and career in balance.
Melissa was born in Willard, Ohio and grew up in Alvarado, Texas where she graduated high school in 2010. She has received additional training and certifications in nitrous oxide, OSHA, RDA and CPR. Melissa loves everything about her job and providing any dental treatment patients need to help them smile. She loves learning something new every day with Dr. Grier. In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her family. She has two girls – Barbara who is 7 and Racheal who is 2 – with her wonderful husband Luis. A fun fact about Melissa is that she is bilingual and is able to help our Spanish-speaking patients!
Shelly grew up north of Waco in Elm Mott, but also calls Penelope and West Texas home. She graduated from McLennan Community College with an Associates of Art degree in 1997, and received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Texas Woman’s University in May of 2000. She has received certifications in nitrous oxide, CPR, and OSHA, and takes continuing education classes throughout each year. Her favorite part of being a dental hygienist is helping people create a preventive program that helps them keep a lasting, beautiful smile.
In her free time, Shelly loves to spend time with her family, watch movies, play games and travel. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, Joe, and they have three children, three dogs, and five chickens. Her girls keep her busy with competitive cheer and dance, and her son loves sports, cars, and nerf guns. Her family is of Czech descent and strongly loves their heritage.
Clerissa was born and raised in Cleburne. She graduated from Cleburne High School in 2008, then from the Fort Worth Dental Assisting School in 2009. She is certified in nitrous oxide monitoring, coronal polishing, and sealant placing. Her favorite part of dental assisting is helping people love their smile.
When Clerissa is not at the office, she enjoys watching her two daughters play softball and basketball.
Bethany originally hails from Hernando, Mississippi, but has spent the last decade in Grandview. She received her dental assistant training from Fort Worth Dental Assisting School and holds certifications in nitrous oxide monitoring and CPR. Bethany’s favorite parts of her job are assisting Dr. Grier during surgery and seeing the big smile on our patients’ faces when their treatment is complete.
Bethany has three beautiful children – Mitchell, Ridglea, and Ellie. Her favorite things to do in her spare time are photography, spending time with her kids and helping out at her local church.
Teresa grew up in North Richland Hills and currently lives in Grandview. She graduated from Richland High School in 1994, and has additional training with nitrous oxide, RDA, and CPR. Her favorite part of working at Grinview Smiles is assisting patients with their oral health and their financial concerns.
Outside of the office, Teresa loves spending time with her family, shopping, watching sports, and being outside with her husband, Jeff. They have three children, and a Golden Retriever. Teresa started working for Dr. Grier in high school and just couldn’t stay away. She loves what she does and being a part of the Grinview Smiles team.
